Camp Nurse

Alford Lake Camp is an overnight camp for girls in Maine.

Located in Hope, Maine. On our 350+ acre camp environment, girls (between the ages of 8 and 15 - from grades 2 through 9) from all over the world have been sharing summers together for 115 years. 

Campers experience the magic of living in our signature white tents, sharing the fun of amazing activities taught by our exceptional counseling staff and enjoy the traditions and camp life that have made a lasting impact in our campers' lives for many generations!

Within our community our nursing staff become a critical part of our team and come to know our campers and staff through interactions and conversations, creating a family atmosphere of trust. 

Important Details to know before applying  

DATES FOR THE SUMMER OF 2024:

• Full Season (including pre-camp): Tuesday, June 12 - Wednesday, August 14
• Half Season - SI: either Tuesday, June 4 - Saturday, July 20
• Half Season - SII - Friday, July 19 - Wednesday, August 14 (plus pre-camp training June 12 - June 26)

PERKS OF THE JOB:

• Housing, meals, and laundry provided
• Earning a camper tuition (either boys or girls); tuition payment greatly reduced.
• We will provide childcare for children who are too young to be campers.
• Salary range: $8000-$10,000. Salary may vary from this range if earning a camper tuition.

TIME OFF AND DUTY:

• 2 days off per week (scheduled by the nursing staff) 
• Days begin at 7:30am through bedtime meds with breaks built into the day
• Overnights in the Infirmary will rotate depending on any campers/staff needing to spend the night
• Night time on-call duty on a rotating basis among nursing staff
